June Top of the Month Club 2016

June Top of the Month Club 2016

Last fall, when I planted seeds for the spring flowers, I got a particularly good stand of larkspur, which is in full bloom at this moment. I am sure that it is no surprise to you that larkspur colors are making an appearance in the Top of the Month Club!
After we had finished dyeing and drying the fiber, our daughter arrived home for a visit. Looking the wool over, she said with amazement, When I was little, every fall I would plant my big colored beads under the magnolia tree near my secret hideaway and then I would dig them up in the spring. They were my buried treasures. This colorway looks just like those beads!
And so we bring you Blooming Treasures, our June Top of the Month Club!

Our wool this month is Superfine Merino. At 19 microns, this wool is incredibly soft. It loves to be spun fine with lots of twist but it also loves to coil and beehive! If you havent spun merino before, you are in for a treat!

Our wool/silk blend is the deluxe blend, 60/40 Polwarth/TussahSilk. The extra silk heightens the two-tone color effect that is prized in wool/silk blends. This fiber will give your yarn spectacular glow and shine!

Violet Shadows is our tonal companion colorway this month. It is available through our web-shop and also through our Etsy-shop.
Our Instagram tag for June is #twfjun16.

Happy Spinning!

Situated on a hill overlooking the Haw River, Three Waters Farm looks out over a mixed terrain of fields, woods, and water in the piedmont of North Carolina. We moved here in 1989 with the intent to raise our family on a working homestead. Initially we produced a mix of organic vegetables, cut flowers, goat cheese, and baked goods at the Carrboro Farmers' Market.
Since 1997, we have focused on making products from our sheep's wool and our goat's milk. We produce a variety of hand-painted yarns, and spinning fibers, and from our goat's milk, we make Goat's Milk True-soap, using our own special recipe.
